Skyward Concessions, established in 1986, was first known as Derik’s Gyros. It was operated out of a small diner on Columbus' east side. Since our beginning, we have been committed to giving the highest quality product and service to our customers. Due to the extraordinary success of this philosophy, our business has grown very rapidly. By 1991, we had out-grown the diner and had to relocate to a larger facility on the near west side of Columbus. The nineties saw tremendous growth for our company. During this period, we expanded to operating eight carts in the Columbus metropolitan area.
In May of 1994, we incorporated as Skyward Marketing, Inc. In 1995 we received the Ohio State University Hospital contract for mobile food service. Late in 1996, we acquired the Columbus State Community Collage contract. With the increase in our success, we again needed to expand our facility. We were able to acquire our current facility in January of 1997, a 9000 square foot building located at 894-896 Scott Street in Columbus, Ohio.
